HIDDEN TREASURES

The Pro Football Hall of Fame's archives is home to the vast majority of the museum’s collection with approximately 90 percent of the mementos housed in this area.

"The archives is actually the ideal place for these items from a preservation aspect," commented Jason Aikens, the Hall’s collections curator. "In reality, the best thing for our mementos is for them not to see the light of day. But, nobody learns anything from them unless we share them with the public."

ITEM: Lou Groza’s helmet ACQUIRED: Unknown DESCRIPTION: This Riddell Kralite helmet was worn by Lou Groza in the 1960s. DONATED BY: Lou Groza Hall of Famer Lou “The Toe” Groza played for the Cleveland Browns for 21 seasons. Aside from his performance as Hall of Fame tackle, Groza handled the kicking duties for Cleveland and amassed 1,608 points during his career.
