Sanders is the second player from Florida State to be elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

The Atlanta Falcons drafted Deion Sanders in the first round, fifth player overall, out of Florida State in the 1989 NFL Draft.

His stardom in the NFL was apparent from his very first game when he returned a punt 68 yards for a touchdown in his NFL debut.

Sanders was named first-team All-Pro for the first time in 1991.

Sanders starred for the Falcons through 1993. He is the first long-time member of the franchise to be elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Sanders led Atlanta in kickoff returns four straight seasons from 1989 to 1992.

Sanders was the Falcons punt returner every season he played with the team.

Sanders also played Major League Baseball. He is the only person ever to play in a World Series and a Super Bowl.

Sanders played one season with the 49ers in 1994. He recorded a career-high 303 yards on interception returns and also became the first player in NFL history to have two 90-yard interception returns for touchdowns in the same season.
