The Pioli Family Fund for HBCU Coaches and Scouts is made possible by the generosity of Scott Pioli and his family. It provides direct financial assistance to aspiring football coaches and scouts who currently are employed at Historically Black College and Universities (HBCUs) or graduates of HBCUs seeking career advancement opportunities in football coaching or scouting at the professional or collegiate level in the United States.
Grant Eligibility
Men and women involved in coaching or scouting in college or professional football with ties to an HBCU are eligible for the grants. They may be part-time coaches or scouts, graduate assistant coaches or scouts or professional coaches or scouts with demonstrated financial need.
Grant Criteria
Applications will be evaluated, and grants will be awarded based on the following criteria:
Note: Coaches applying for funding are responsible for ensuring their requests falls within all rules and regulations of their governance organization(s).
Grant Allocation
Assistance will be awarded in the form of a stipend to cover costs and/or expenses related to education, specialized training and job-related expenses (including for purposes of clarity, related housing expenses) and/or travel.
Grant Award
Grant amounts will range between $2,000 to $10,000.

About Scott Pioli
A three-time Super Bowl winner and five-time NFL executive of the year winner, Scott Pioli was named NFL Executive of the Decade by Sporting News and Sports Illustrated and named ESPN Personnel Executive of the Decade. Pioli is passionate about the importance of equality, education and the arts and focuses on those three cornerstones through several initiatives. Pioli most recently served as the assistant general manager for the Atlanta Falcons and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Ross Initiative in Sports for Equality (RISE), The Women’s Intersport Network for Kansas City (WIN for KC) and the Black College Football Hall of Fame (BCFHOF). Pioli also serves on the board for College for Every Student, a national nonprofit committed to underserved youth, most of whom will be first-generation college students. Pioli also founded the WIN for KC Pioli Scholarship, along with several academic scholarships geared toward first-generation college students.
